Nat is a consultant anaesthetist at the South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. He is RA-UK President, ESRA Council member and sits on the Association of Anaesthetists UK (AoA) council. He is clinical lead for regional anaesthesia for STSFT where he introduced one of the first block rooms in the UK. He is course director for the Sunderland Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia (SUGRA) course. He is co-lead for the University of East Anglia MSc in Regional Anaesthesia, is an invited speaker for both the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and the AoA and is a regular international speaker. He led the development of the UK’s Prep, Stop, Block national patient safety initiative. He sits on the RCoA’s Anaesthesia Associates scope of practice core writing group, co-authored the recent RCoA General Provision of Regional Anaesthesia chapter and is a member of the latest UK National Audit Project (NAP8) steering group. He also co-authored the RA-UK/British Society of Orthopaedics nerve injury guidelines.
