Founded in 2011, the African Society of Regional Anesthesia (AFSRA) is a scientific society dedicated to advancing regional anesthesia, pain management, critical care ultrasound (POCUS), and continuing medical education across Africa.
Our mission is to bridge training gaps, support young professionals, and promote innovation and collaboration within and beyond the continent.
For over a decade, AFSRA has:

Dear colleagues, dear friends,
It is with great joy and profound honor that I invite you to participate in the 13th Congress of the AFSRA (African Society of Regional Anesthesia), which will take place in Constantine, Algeria, on November 28–29, 2025.
This congress represents a key moment in our commitment to the advancement of regional anesthesia, pain management, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in critical care, and continuing medical education throughout the African continent.
It is part of a scientific, human, and innovative dynamic that fosters the exchange of experiences, the sharing of knowledge, and the creation of lasting synergies between anesthesiologists from Africa, Europe, and beyond.
Constantine, a city of bridges, culture, and millennia-old history, will welcome us in an exceptional setting conducive to dialogue and inspiration. The rich and interactive scientific program will include plenary lectures, hands-on workshops, masterclasses, free paper sessions, and young investigator sessions.
